Thread: Deus Ex 3 Trailer

Strangely enough this is a game series I have known since the beginning but never actually tried.

Deus Ex 1 was overrated imho. I much preferred Deus Ex2 which was essentially just copied and renamed to "Mass Effect"

A lot of these IPs were loved the first time round but the RPG/FPS has been done better by better developers. I think this will fail as hard as doom 3 did.

i'll play it regardless tbh..

I liked Deus Ex when it was just released..
I liked Deus Ex: Invisible War when it was just released..
I bet i'll like Deus Ex: Human Revolution when it'll be released..

Biggest plus the franchise has now is that Square-Enix is involved. =)
If anyone can "revive" Deus Ex, it'll be them.. that, or they'll destroy it and everyone who played it! Heh..

Anyways, I just dl'd the original Deus Ex and I'm loving it tbh

Indeed, it was supposed to be Icarus. His dad built himself and Icarus wings with which to escape, this amazing gift, and Icarus kept flying higher. His dad warned him, and he flew too close to the sun and his wings burnt, he died.

So basically it looks like there might be some shoe-horned moral dilemma about abusing the new arms he appears to have been given. Don't know, I haven't played the series so I feel kinda like I shouldn't play this.

yes it's the typical icarus metaphor, except it's not really because it's fucking Square-Enix. They're gay as fuck for angels. Read the interviews with the lead dev on this that came out a few months ago. The guy is so proud of himself for using the (complex, layered, and never-before-used ever) icarus myth to describe the risks of untested power and the faux renaissance setting to emphasise the technological revolut---blaaaaaaaaghhhhhhhh this is going to a huge steaming turd

The original was fucking amazing... revolutionary for its day!! Completed it about 5-6 times! Missed the second one as i heard bad things about it... might give this a bash!
