playing the game under no obligation and playing the game with obligation are two different things.

and often people who play freely may lose interest and sometimes can not understand what its like to participate in a fully active competitive clan.

same as playing footbal on a sunday with amtes when they give you the odd ring, with no obligation or being in a school/local/university football team.

only this strengthens (arguably) the mind, reactions whereas football gives you a full on healthy workout.

some can handle the competitive side some can not. some dont see the need, and i respect that.

i dont ejoy video games that much at all, console or not, its the actual way playing at a high level which i experience nowhere else thus far in my life, outsmarting, devising new routes, reacting faster, those kicks i get were not as half expected.

and whereas DEFINITELY at times im just like why do i want pressure from this, and i often get close to quitting css. i keep it to myself mostly, cus im learning slowly that negativity can bring others down.

and although i can empathise with someone losing interest, but i dont really see any need for sympathy.

even to be competitve at a video game and to take it a bit more seriously requires work.

the other night i saw AuxiliA, full team, train for 7 hours non-stop into early hours of the morning, one night for thesgl and up and coming matches.

another high skilled clan train 7 days in advance for a cup game.

sometimes its hard to rationalise that kind of commitment for a video game?

well the eperience of outplaying another serious team, or giving it your best, even if you lose, is just real fun.

and in clan games, there are some exrtremely tense moments, which create great feelings, and they do if you are victorious, and still if you lose, it was still nail biting.

that is what i hold onto, otherwise i get nothign from 3d characters and running and shooting.

i just see it as does it get my juices flowing and it does. but at times it can be very hard to balance it with life commitments.

and again, when you step back and think about it, its like do i need to put this effort in/or take this pressure.

but none of these top teams who make it look so easy, like cadre, aux, logitech, who you think oh man they are just sick, nahhhhh m8, they train, they get together and practice.

insignia cadre is the worst, 5pm+ its playing with clan mates most days of the week.

people will come and go, just part of all aspects of your life, gaming to clubbing to just any sort of constant activity.

I think proper CSS compares pretty favourably with any team-based sport - I don't have any problem rationalising why I would play it seriously. For some reason videogames carry a stigma that isn't applied to other pursuits in life, most or all of which are pretty worthless at the end of the day.

The pressure that comes with it is proof that it is worth something... without that it would be a fairly trivial pursuit and no challenge.

most days i have to argue whether it be my parents, mates, gf why gaming CAN be like any other comepetitive game (whether it be a physical sport, or snooker,chess,darks etc.) The thrill you get from succeeding at a competitive level, again opponents is just as great as winning a football match.

For me it's a love/hate relationship with the game; as I'm sure is the case for a lot of us.
I only play public because of boredom, I'm not doing much with my life atm and it passes the time I guess. Takes my mind off real life, much the same as drinking tbh.
And yeah I've thought about chucking it in plenty of times, I gave up completely for about a month at one stage but still went back to the ol' css as nothing better came up.

I only really enjoy playing 5v5s with the whole teamwork aspect being key. Haven't been able to play any recently which sucks. Getting killed by morons on public really annoys me which is a sad fact, whilst getting killed by them in a scrim is ok.

I think maybe i'm in too deep, or need a non-serious clan perhaps, leave public alone :/

maybe time for another break, but I know that wont happen....

I myself would have the time to play css in week, but mostly got some school/work stuff to do, mostly I'm chatting with some fm regs and that it was.

Not going on the public anymore because like others said, you get annoyed due get killed by some no-name nublet mofo as you know that you could do better, laggy at times and shiat fps aswell (not offendend meant <3).

Still I'm sometimes thinking about getting clanned and realizing, nah you're crap, you only play css at weekend and then mostly pished..seeing clanhoppers aswell, seeing good clans just fail for no reason and all that.

If you play sometimes you just end up starring at the screen and thinking "Wtf Omg Lol? "

The only thing I really enjoy at the moment is playing css dm, but not for long.

i was supposed to be quitting css ages ago, like you said when people announce it trhey alwdays come back. i had a resting period of about 2 weeks, according to xfire i had only done 4 hrs. Now im back upto 30+hrs. oh dear, maybe ill stop playing a little more now that im coming upto GCSE time.
