I personally have stopped to care about any kind of harrashments towards me in online games, because getting angry about words over the internet gets you nowhere, but breaking up your own property.

Same applies to racist comments in MY CASE. I'm white, so I don't really have to deal with racism towards myself anyway.

And no, I don't mean it should be allowed and I know i'm not the only person in the servers and others may take even the smallest comments/harrashment really offensive.

I understood that there have always been a zero tolerance towards racism. I suggest to keep up with that.

However, some players that are not actually racists and aren't familiar with this policy and says something little racist while not actually meaning it, should be given a small couple days to 1 week ban as a warning and another chance.

I could'nt agree more. In plain terms "once a rascist, always a rascist" imho. I don't have time for people who grovel back and say how sorry they are for being a rascist prick towards people on the server and I don't think anyone else should either.

In my opinion the ban lengths should be switched, fair enough if some youngen heard from his mates about a wallhack at school, came on the server and started owning the regs and got a perm ban. But if you compare that to a week temp ban for being blatantly rasicst towards people i think it's a joke.

Someone who acts like that doesn't do it on a spur of the moment thing, that is how they are as a person. And do you really want people like that on your servers FM?

The admins go to all the trouble of reporting/ banning these individuals and i think it would be sad for me to think that the Fragmasters servers would have people who have previously behaved in this way that im playing against.

I think the current system for source (i know i.6 differs from source) works fine.

I personally 1 week ban any racist, reg or not.
A racism ban shouldnt be shorter someone who doesnt play on the server alot, or vice versa.

However, the zero tolerance rule stands, admins will ban any racism, regardless if its a "joke" or "light hearted"........because frankly, racism isnt a joke, or to be taken lightly.

IMO, i dont care if your black, white or anything in between, a person is a person, and personality makes who you are, not your skin colour.
Tho, perm bans shouldnt be issued for racism unless its a repeated offense, and subsequent bans have not deterred the offender.

for me it allways depends on the situation and the banter on teh server. i like to warn em 3 times, but after the 3rd waring they are fooked and banned.

beast still didnt learn and we dont need him at fm tbh or is he doing something for the community wich we dont know? he been banned at 1.6 like 100 times for several things and if i remember correctly he got 2 or 3 forum bans in the past.

JUST PERM BAN HIM FFS.
and if you are on it perm ban his mate phreaky too.

I think the current system works pretty well for the most part - having a rule that is enforced in black and white terms isn't realistic... Saying that there is a zero tolerance policy is a good thing - racism shouldn't be tolerated (even less so than cheaters IMO - racists sully our collective conciousness and do real harm, whereas all cheaters really do is annoy us)...

BUT each case has to be looked at on it's own merits (or lack thereof) - there are times when the perceived racism isn't what was intended or meant by the offender, or when the racist comment isn't, because of the particular culture of the offender (a black man calling another black man "******" isn't perceived as racist by most black people - black comedians do it all the time). The zero tolerance policy means that they are still not allowed to do it, but the context means they deserve to at least be warned that it isn't tolerated from anyone (which a temp ban does pretty effectively).

If, after being warned they do it again, then a perm ban is what they should get...
