I know it's perhaps the wrong section, but i wanna appeal against the change of rules!!

I was checking the report cheater section, and I am rlly confused about the racism topic.

as I started to play on FM (long years ago), there was no exceptions for racists or ppl like this.
and now? what's going on??

temp banned for 1 week?..if u temp ban a cheater, perhaps he will learn something and never do it again (perhaps), but a guy who writes bullshit against a whole population with another skin colour...i don't think he will learn his lesson!
I got the same opinion like ph33r, on his rules post: No racism - Fragmasters has a zero tolerance policy on racial abuse.

shame on u, phreaky and beast...regular players know the rules, and u broke it!

Rocco I know how you feel here, and believe me Beast & Phreaky have both been temp banned as they should know better.
I've npticed that even though you are appealing against CSS bans, you play 1.6 more correct? And you guys give even smaller temp bans to your racists (like a few hours for example)

This is really the kind of appeal that should have been posted in the admin section so we could consolidate some more concrete rules against racism...
Although wp Rocco, good to see that you want to take the initiative and open this to the community for an opinion.

Agreed baha, initially, i thought this topic should of been admin section only, but further reading, i think its a valid point and more people, including non-admins, should be able to express their views as its their server as well as ours

Always had strong opinions on this!

Should all be perm'd! We dnt need people like that in the community, just cause they get a 1 week temp ban isnt guna change the opinons on other race's! If it means a few people get banned from the community, it wnt effect server and forum numbers. In fact will make the community a much better place!

Its not about their opinions on race though, because tbh you dont know what anybody is thinking over the internet, its purely about whether they express opinions on public servers on highly sensitive issues that may cause distress :S

Hes saying that simply having certain opinions cannot be a reason for banning someone but expressing them on a public server in a manner to cause distress is whats wrong.

And idd seems to be odd, if its 0 tolerance that wud initially mean the matter being dealt with the same way as with cheaters ( i think thats what it means )

And yet some racist comments seems to land some ppl perm bans, i.e KanineNs case were i noticed the guy seems quite remorseful however in cases of were members have been racist and not imo shown any sign of regret yet only seemed smug about it there have only been temp bans issued even thought being members means they should know the rules better then anyone.

The point is, we're not trying to change peoples beliefs, they can believe whatever they like, no problems. The problem comes when they start sharing some of these beliefs in public with racist comments.
