Thug | i appreciate all the replies guys.. i'm going to need the works, monitor, keyboard, mouse, ect... for now im just focusing on the system hardware, and i'm really set on building my own, and learn how to OC a few things... i've only done a few days research but im slowly learning. so far the only things i'm bent on purchasing would be --- intel e8400 3GHz --- WD velociraptor --- EVGA nFORCE 780i (i read a drawback to this mobo is the placement of the PCI-express slot and that if you get large SLI-GPU setup you can no longer access the PCI-express slot... has any1 had problems with this?) --- should i go with a 3-way(if they will all fit?) EVGA NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX (512mb GDDR3, core clock 738MHz, 256-bit) or EVGA GeForce 8800 Ultra (768MB GDDR3, core clock 630MHz, 384-bit) so far roughly 735 quid...eeeeek but worth it if you believe this system will last me 5 years... so we still need a case, PSU, dvd burner, and memory (i was leaning towards crucial ballistix 2x1GB DDR2 SDRAM 1066MHz PC2 8500 dual channel, but i hear they die after 6 months) thanks for all the info and help, cheers. |
