Please use this thread if you would like share your overclocking experience. Please take a screenshot, using this software CPU-Z to show us how much you have overclocked your CPU.

Tell us what settings you have used in order conduct a successfully overclock.

This is my story, I built a complete water cooled PC from scratch. What was worse I never overclocked my pc until today when I purchased 2GB ramstick. It has been well over a year since I built my PC.

CPU E6600 @ 2.4 / Overclocked to 3.6GHZ
MOBO GIGABYTE GA-P965-DS3
CRUCIAL BALLISTIX @ 4-4-4-12 @ v2.3
RAID0 2xWD RAPTOR HDD @10,000RPM

the e6600 is such a versatile processor, but is brilliant for overclocking

i did the same to my e6600 but increased to 3.2ghz but it isnt cooled tho, just bought a bigger industrial like fan for my processor lol :P

my processors current average temp is 29 degrees celcius

Wait your RAM is at 2.3 volt while only having a latencie of 5-5-5-15?
You should be able to do that at 1.6 or 1.7 volt (if not less).
My RAM works at 4-4-4-12 1T on 1.95 volt (ok it are 4 sticks of 1Gb but with a 2Gb stick the voltage shouldn't be that high).

Also, did you do some stress tests like Prime95 too see if the CPU is stable at full load for longer periods of time (also importand for the temp. after longer times of stressing).
I wonder that since your CPU voltage seems to run at around stock speed (afaik) with a decent overclock, and often these things are only possible if you have a CPU out of a so called "Golden batch" (and I believe the B2 stepping of your CPU isn't a golden batch).

Nice, and also good that the FSB and the RAM are running 1:1 (that is the way how it is supposed too on a Intel CPU).

But I still find the voltage of your RAM rather high.

I had my RAM run at 4-4-4-12 2T a while on 1.6v and I have no doubt I could under volt that a bit.

Thats a nice oc mate, did you get it any higher than that previously or did it fail to boot or fail prime etc? or do you think theres more in it yet?

Unfortunately memory timings CL4, 4,4,12 loads up windows succesfully but after a while I get the blue screen of death.

The cruicial ballistix DD2 1066 ram is classed as a CL5 5,5,15 hence I have no problems when running at that speed.

I shall be hoping to reach 3.8ghz speed with futher testing.

GL with the 3.8 that would be an awesome oc, I think this thread just inspired me to have a go at mine I'm only on stock air though so it wont be anywhere near yours but should be fun
