Default Dell's answer to the NextGen consoles

On the CES 2006 in Las Vegas, Michael Dell revealed the Dell XPS 600 RENEGADE. With a Pentium 4 Extreme Edition Dualcore CPU, overclocked to 4,26 GHz and four Geforce 7800 GTX GPU, two Geforce 7800 GTX cards with two Geforce 7800 GTX-GPU's and 512 MB each card, connected over SLI. Thats 2 Gigabyte Frame-Buffer-Memory and 2 Gigabyte of Dual-Channel DDR2-SDRAM, which are running at 667 MHz. Dell calls it "Quad-Graphics-Power". The components, included the especially for Dell produced graphics, are cooled with normal coolers, thats why it makes a bit noise in 3D-mode. The case is designed by Mike Lavallee, popular for his airbrushings. Michael Dell said nothing about the price, only: "It will cost a lot".

I think it's a very good PC, excepting the cooling-solution, which is a bit loud. Cool fire-case too. But only for the rich ones in my opinion, i guess the price is over $10'000 and tbh what would you do if a graphic component dies, to get it sorted you have to use the dell service, because they are specially designed for Dell .

    thats one powerfull pc.

there are no games atm that need that amout of power to run it. u got 3 graphics cards doing shit in that pc when playing games like FEAR and Quake 4 u only need 1 of them cards to get ownage frame rate and graphics. whats the point.

Not to worry. Quad sli mobos should be out soon enough. There is already one irrc but it only allows you to run two cards in sli :/
